Idilia Foods: over 70 years supporting sport

At Idilia Foods we’re much more than a food company. Ever since our brands were first created – over 70 years ago – we’ve been committed to sport and its values, like teamwork and the reward that comes with effort. Because brands like Cola Cao and Nocilla provide the energy necessary for sports and to restore strength both at breakfast and at snack time.

The words of the Canción del Cola Cao, the legendary Cola Cao ad broadcast in the 60s, referred to the product’s qualities for athletes. While in those days it was consumed by “the footballer to score goals” and “good swimmers”, it has since been endorsed by sportsmen as outstanding as Eddy Merckx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Mark Spitz, Rivaldo, Dani Pedrosa and Rafa Nadal in different campaigns.

With the firm objective of supporting the constant progress of Spanish sport and athletes, which provide a very important example for both young and old, Idilia has worked with the Olympic Sports Aid Program (ADO) since its foundation in 1988 and is an official sponsor of the Spanish Olympic team. Since 2017 Idilia is also sponsor of the Spanish Paralympic team taking part in the ADOP Project (Paralympic Sport Support Plan).

We have cooperated with ADO, the Spanish Olympic Sport Assistance Programme, since it was set up in 1988 to support Spanish sport and help Spanish athletes to carry on working to develop their career day by day.

The most recent campaigns by Idilia Foods brands have concentrated on highlighting the importance of children taking part in sports, telling real and fictitious stories of achievement and dreams come true. Daniel Stix, a 16 year-old paraplegic athlete, showed us how to dream with Cola Cao, proving that no challenges are impossible if you’re determined enough. The youthful Nocilla basketball team, on the other hand, set us an example regarding the role of enthusiasm and the power of the team to achieve any target.
